Method of payment is currently by cash (East Kilbride area) or cheque. However, services will not be completed until cheque has cleared.
Payment for domain registration, hosting and submission to search engines and other sites, must be received prior to service being supplied. Web site hosting is provided by a third party whose terms and conditions apply - available by request or when registering for hosting services.
After sample page has been accepted, a deposit will be required before work will continue.
Any business or organisation should have a starter page minimum, containing name, address,telephone number, and a brief description.
The page can be listed with search engines and other people can include a link to your page from their site. The more people that see your page, the more people that know your business or organisation exists!
This is the cheapest form of web presence and no business or organisation should be without it!
Your site should look good, be easy to navigate and download quickly.
Too many graphics can look messy and can take a long time to download, as can fancy flash pages.
My sites designs are attractive, while remaining simple and easy to use!
You supply the text and any graphics you wish to use and leave the rest to me.
Your site can be set up so that updates are not necessary.
However, if you wish a page that requires updating such as a price list, just forward the information and your site will be updated within a day or two. The same applies for new/changed text and graphics. Changes to your website after completion are subject to an additional fee per page.
A back-up of your site will be made whenever such changes are implemented.
Hosting can be supplied via EyeSpy Web Design or you can buy your own hosting package.
When your site is hosted with EyeSpy Web Design, your domain name will be set to point to your pages in our account, eg. www.eyespyweb.co.uk/yoursite, but the address bar will still show your domain name.
Buying your own hosting package is more professional and necessary if you have a larger website.
You can have as many web sites as you like. But what is the point if no-one can find them!
Your site will be submitted to the more popular search engines including Google and Yahoo, and links requested on any other sites related to yours.
However, it can take months to be listed with search engines, and this cannot be guaranteed. You can do your own promotion by including your domain name in your stationery and advertising.
Purchasing a domain name is one of the first things you should do.
It can be swapped between hosts, included in your stationery, gives you a related e-mail address. Domain names are usually shorter and easier to remember.
You may have to act fast to get the name you want! However, many more domains are becoming available such as .org, .biz, .info etc.
Many features can be added to your site. Some make your site more interactive for the visitor.
Visitors can leave messages in your guestbook - 3rd party (may contain adverts) or using a database - or fill in a form to give you feedback or join a mailing list. If you have a club or organisation why not include a chat room for your members?
